Team PHS

These are our individual projects:

ATTACK.WAV is a synthpunk band from Brooklyn, New York. They make hyperspeed, no sequencer apathy-pop inspired by video games, noodles and caffeinated beverages.

PHS contributors: Pulse Wave (vox, synths), Saw Wave (synths), Sine Wave (drums), Tree Wave (synths)

BacklightsJoe Sant, Tyler Graham, Cecilia Avery, and Kevin Frost make up Backlights, a band of pop dreamers hailing from New York City. Their songs grow out of revery and rumination, and their influences include whiskey cocktails, local politics, dream logs, Wong Kar Wai movies, street basketball.

PHS contributors: Joe (vocals, guitar), Tyler (drums)

Japan Soul

Japan Soul: Plastic Utopia single coverConstantly evolving, Japan Soul is a wandering vacuum of ideas influenced by styles as diverse as art rock, sophisti-pop and electronic dance music. Japan Soul is the music collective of Jason Paul—vocals, guitars, bass, programming, David Rozner—percussion, arrangements, trumpet and guitars, and DaVe Lipp—saxophones, bass, eclectic instruments. Japan Soul seeks to create transcendental music that synthesizes art, dissent and euphoria through popular music. JS has begun releasing singles from their forthcoming debut album “Plastic Utopia” due in November 2013.

Little, Big

Little, Big met on a street corner in Brooklyn in 2007. She thought, “That’s my bassist.” He thought, “That’s my singer.” It was musical love at first sight. Dana’s wide range and pop sensibility meshed perfectly with Chuck’s hook-driven lead bass. After adding Chuck’s drum loops and Dana’s illustrations, Little,Big emerged as a new, more playful take on being a rock band. They’ve spent the last two years making music for dancing to in your most awesome pajamas.
